Best forestry work boots?
I work for the forest service, and I spend 10 hours a day 6 days a week in the woods. I currently own a pair of danner work boots and hate them because after 3 months they are falling apart. What is the best pair of vibram soled work boots, price not being an problem.
A long time ago, I also worked for the Forest Service, just for the Summers. The favored footwear–especially for fire crews–was a heavy handmade White’s work boot, with lug soles and a logger heel. White’s is (or was) in Redding, California. If I understood correctly, you’re supposed to send them tracings of your feet, made while wearing the socks that you plan to wear with the boots.
The second-place brand was West Coast.
