Keep feeling guilty after what I’ve done, how do i forget and live on?
Everytime i think about what i did, i feel really bad. I was a student and live in the boarding house.
At school, i was a good student, never really got into trouble. But on 2 days befor i leave my school for sure(i finished school anyways, i just decided to stay at the boarding house for a few more days), i set off the fire alarm by accident by cooking food in my room with a portable stove when i am not supposed to. I got scolded by the headmistress. and told me things which made me feel more guilty…things like, i couldve shut down the school. she couldve lost her fire safety permit, and something about people going to chop her head off (not literally though) .
I felt really guilty. And still do when i think about it.
How do i stop thinking about it? or at least, stop feeling bad when i think about it? Thnx in advance…really in need of help.
First of All. A lot of people accidently set off fire alarms, especially when you are in a closed space. My roomate did it actually a few months ago in my dorm.
Second of all. A lot of times people who are in control like that get power hungry and just say random crap so they can make you feel guilty and so they can feel more authoritative. They are usually lying.
There is no way they would shut down the school for something like that. She just didn’t want any responsibility at all for herself.
And when I do something that I feel really guilty about…the feeling will eventually pass after at least a couple of weeks

You will get through the feeling just need some time… remember everybody feels like that sometime
just try to do something to distract yourself from the feeling…don’t dwell on it.
