Shutting down motor function with 1 shot?
We had some law-enforcement promotion thing at my school a few months ago. There was a SWAT sniper there, and we got to chatting about the best rifle, caliber, and ammo for the job. He told me he uses an R-700, in .300 Winchester Magnum, with a light-grain (for a .300 Win. Mag.) bullet most of the time. I asked him if he has ever taken a head shot, and he told me that there have been situations where he had to, and that he always aimed for a certain part of the brain, because it shuts down all motor functions, and nerve signals. What part of the brain is this? I think he said the “abdullah oblongata” or something like that. I guess any part of the brain stem might do, but I was just wondering. And don’t state the obvious please, I know there isn’t going to be much left of the head, but I want to know what this specific part of the brain is.
