what size air hose do i need for my compressor and spray gun?
Hi i have a senco finishpro 18 compresor that came with a small nail gun. I want to purchase a spray from http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Finishing_supplies/Equipment:_Spray_equipment/Spray_Guns.html
I just dont know what air hose i need even though it say 1/4 inch connection.

The size of the hose is dependent on the CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) that the device you are attempting to power requires.
Given that the I.D. of the common hose shank is likely the limiting factor in the total flow through the hose (as it is SMALLER than the I.D. of a 1/4″ pipe), to get the most CFM through the a hose to a 1/4″ threaded connectionyou will need to use a hose LARGER than the threaded connection.
3/8″ air hose with 1/4″ Male NPT ends are very common for this very reason.
The device manufacturer should be able to tell you the CFM requirement for each device they sell, and let you know what I.D. hose is usually used to make sure the tool is properly fed air.
When in doubt make sure you have enough CFM flow capacity!!!
