What is the best way to clean out an undergrown, corrugated platic (pvc?) drain?
Our downspouts lead to underground drains made of 4″ (?) corrugated pipe. We found out, when our giutters were overflowing, and our driveway became a lake, that some of the drainlines are clogged with leaves & pine needles. Tightly clogged! I’ve reached as far as I could with my arm, and pulled a lot of the gunk out. But that’s only the first couple feet of some very long drain lines.
I tried putting a high-pressure nozzle on the end of the garden hose and pushing it down the drain to hopefully break up the clogs. It seemed to work okay for a few feet, but then stopped as solid as if it hit a brick wall. I wonder if it just hit a bend in the drain tube & got hung up on a ridge of the corrugation?
I was told that a power-rooter might not be a good idea, since it might tear up the drainpipe & cause more serious problems. Is that correct?

I just proof-read. Of course, I meant an “UNDERGROUND” drain. Duh…
I have rented jetters in the past, that would be my first try – they come with a lot of hose. otherwise the sewer snake and go slow with the spring type end.
