one answerer in one of my posts said the marine corps is a religion, just proving some of the points i made…
im not here USMC bashing, as a matter of fact, i love the Corps but i hate the arrogance they show as if they are the best and their recruit training should be closely supervised. i was taught in boot camp that the germans in belleau woods france called the marines “teufel hunden” which means devil-dogs. the Marines are proud of that name. i done research, and during the same period, WW1, a german officer was quoted as saying about ARMY AIRBORNE, “they dont stop, they just keep coming, them DEVILS in baggy pants!”. sounds the same to me, the germans were afraid of both, Marines and army! another part of the “propaganda machine” the marine boot camp taught us is that guadalcanal was only a marine operation. thats a lie, there were plenty army units at guadalcanal and please army answerers confirm this for me. i never researched this but veterans told me that Marines were pulled out of Nam because their casualties were excessive. ok, why Marines take credit for things the army did also?
*** edited from first entry **************
Your research about Marines being pulled out of Vietnam due to excessive casualties is totally erroneous. A US Marine was the last to leave from the top of the US Embassy in April 1975 on a Marine helicopter from my squadron. Marines had their fair share of casualties because we were always engaged with finding and destroying the enemy. You usually don’t take casualties if you are not FIGHTING.

Read the quotes and weep. Find me some equivalent about the Army and I will integrate them into my research. History is a tough truth to refute. (Please note USA means US Army)
My only answer as to why the Marines get the toughest jobs is because the average Leatherneck is a much better fighter. He has far more guts, courage, and better officers… These boys out here have a pride in the Marine Corps and will fight to the end no matter what the cost.
2nd Lt. Richard C. Kennard, Peleliu, World War II
Why in hell can’t the Army do it if the Marines can. They are the same kind of men; why can’t they be like Marines.

“I can’t say enough about the two Marine divisions. If I use words like brilliant, it would really be an under-description of the absolutely superb job they did in breaching the so-called impenetrable barrier. . .Absolutely superb operation, a textbook, and I think it’ll be studied for many, many years to come as the way to do it.” (General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, USA, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 27 February 1991.)
