carbon dioxide fire extinguishers chemical equation?
I know that you start out with a thing burning…
then when you add carbon dioxide to it..it produces hydrogen oxide..which is pretty much water.
ahh.
i’m confusing myself with chemistry.
Well lets say we have gasoline on fire which needs to be covered by carbon dioxide for the fire to die down.
what would the chemical equation be?
Well, the idea is NOT to have a chemical equation. Burning requires oxygen, that is a reaction. By spraying CO2 over the burning fire you minimize the presence of oxygen, therefore is nothing that can burn the gasoline. I hope this helps clear it up a little.
