Restore factory settings for a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop?
I recently went to out of town for a month, only to return and see thatmy little brother used my laptop and basically fubar’d it. It says it doesnt reconize any wireless adaptors (which i had previously) the flashing icon monitors in the quick tool (lower right hand corner) bar is missing.
I have serched for my recovery cd but cannot find it. I have located the OS cd, and an application cd, along with others..
My question is, if I insert the OS cd will that restore the laptop to its factory settings or must I locate my Recovery Disk?
Any other help or suggestions to this problem are greatly appreciated.

The key sequence is Control f11
it will then say welcome to system restore by symantic
do you want to continue
SAY YES
it will say confirm data deletion
SAY YES
This will return your computer to like new condition.It will reinstall the OS, drivers and preinstalled aps. You will need to do updates to drivers, the various service packs and reinstall software.
Remember to back up your data FIRST, it will all be gone after the restore
BEFORE you so that, you might want to do a simple windows system restore first. Do it to a day before your brother got ahold of the machine. This will asve time and you won’t lose data
