How do i stop the fire sprinkler leak at this hour?
An object accidentally hit the fire sprinkler in the closet and set it off. We had to the the house water supply off to get it to stop running but now we have no water. No place is open to help in Bowie.
Look back at where you cut off the water to your house. After that valve there should be another valve to supply the sprinkler. You should be able to shut that valve and then turn your domestic supply back on.

Go to home depot and but a 1/2 inch threaded plug and a little pipe dope [it is in a can and has a small brush] Brush some dope on the threads and using a crescent wrench unscrew the head [there should be a part at the base of the sprinkler head that will allow a crescent wrench to be inserted. Do not use pliers and do not try to take it out by force unless you are using the proper wrench at the BASE of the head. After its out simply install the plug and gently but firmly tighten it. Then you can turn your sprinkler system back on until a professional can replace the head. DO NOT leave your sprinkler system down. They will save your life in the event of a fire.
