Do they make bullet proof gloves?
I always wonder what soldier or police officers do for hand protection in a fire fight. like put a clear shield on a gun o rthey have gloves that are bullet proof. It just seems to me that a major point that can get hit easily in a fire fight if someone is shooting straight at you,.
To better answer that question, there are no true “bullet proof” gloves.
They do make gloves that have kevlar (which is the material used in vests), but those are usually “cut” resistant. If someone is wielding a knife, and they slash at you, it is less likely to cut through your glove, and getting to your hand. If it’s a stabbing motion, it will penetrate the glove.
I use my kevlar gloves to keep my hands warm, so that blood doesn’t get on my hands when i fight a suspect, and so that it protects my hands from getting poked or cut by a sharp object when searching a person on the streets.
Other than that, if you get hit in the hand, your kinda out of luck. At that point, you would want to transition your firearm to the opposite hand, and continue fighting. Hopefully the person that happens to was training with their off hand and/or one hand just in case that were to happen, I do.
