It’s time for fun with logical fallacies! Imagine the following person:?
- Refuses to let their 14 year old child be in the same building as any sort of nut, on the grounds that the child has a peanut allergy that does not seem to have killed him, or even made him seriously ill, any of the numerous times he ate peanuts before the allergy was diagnosed.
- Has insisted on telling the kid, from birth, that Santa is fake (on the grounds of not “encouraging belief in imaginary characters”)
- Blames the oven fire they caused on “demons” and solved the oven fire problem using prayer. Seems to believe that prayer alone is a reasonable substitute for fire extinguishers or a call to 911.
What party would you expect this person to identify with, and why?
No, this is actually a real life human being we’re discussing. But even if it was fake, you’d still be missing the uberlogical point of this exercise.
Well we’re dealing with common sense, here. It’s like logic, only on steroids, so you shouldn’t be ashamed if you have trouble keeping up.
