Fire Extinguishers – Please Answer?
I have a couple of questions about fire extinguishers… I know not the most interesting subject but it is better to be safe than sorry.
Why don’t you use water on a petrol fire e.t.c. is it because it just doesn’t work?
Why don’t sprinklers cause electrical problems in buildings when they let off water?

Wow, this went into the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual catagory… ok…
a) Petrol floats on water, so adding water merely spreads the burning petrol around, making matters worse.
b) Probably they do, but better some electrical problems to sort out than a burned-out building. Sprinklers are very effective at stopping spread of a fire (unless there is burning oil as per (a)!, hence you shouldn’t fit sprinklers in places where oil fires might occur).
