How do you pick a good value for a home fire extinguisher?
Even if I limit my search to type ABC (plus K for the kitchen if available), brand-name units, UL-approved, there is stll a wide range of prices. Is a $60 extinguisher 4x as good as a $15?
I can go to Lowes, Home Depot, Sam’s Club (or Walmart if it’s a really really good deal).
ABC will handle any home fire, including kitchen. The big difference in price is due to the size of the extinguisher. A good one for the kitchen will run about $40. Get a bigger one for the basement and for the hallway outside the bedrooms. Hope this helps.
