Please Help. Science lab Saftey Questions?
I need some help on a few questions. please best answer(:
1. If something on your lab benches catches fire, what is the best response from the choices below?
a.)always run for the fire extinguisher if you see a flame.
b.)if and only if it is possible to do so safely, cover the flames with a beaker of watch-glass, remove solvents from the area, then get the fire extinguisher; if it is not possible to do this, leave the room and pull the fire alarm, and call 911 from a safe phone.
c.)get the safety wash and aim the water at the flames
d.)the moment you see a hint of the flame, immediately leave the room and pull the fire alarm.
2.Your shirt catches fir while leaning over a Bunsen burner. what procedure(s) should you follow?
1. A (seemsl like the most logical answer since you could risk injury + more on B, not sure though)
2. Take your shirt off, throw it on the ground, get the fire extinguisher while yelling fire?
