Is it safe to recharge a water fire extinguisher yourself?
I have a water fire extinguisher that was made in 1981 and was last hydro tested in 1999. I know how to recharge it, I just want to know if it is safe to do so?
It may be old, but it looks new for it’s age and is the same design.
I believe it needs to be hydrostatically tested every 5 years. Take it to a local fire equipment store to get tested. After that it’s very easy to refill yourself.
