do fire extinguishers need to be on a plastic case or hook by law?
we have fire extinguishers all over the office and i need to somehow find out that by having them standing in a corner (well accessible and signed), are we breaking the law.
we have some on hooks, others in a special fire extinguisher plastic stand, but others nothing but signed?
i cant find out what the law is anywhere…
this is in england, so enlish laws would apply…
if only common sence was a good enough answer for the chairman of the company eh? 
Unlikely, most fire extinguisher laws require that it be available, accessible and charged. Plastic cases and hooks are just used to make the extinguisher easier to find.
