Chemistry Questions??? Pleeeeeez help me – I’m stuck!!! 10 pts for BEST ANSWER!!?
I’ve got 2 pages of questions that I have 2 do…and i’ve tried my best to answer them myself, but these ones i’m just stuck on!! Can any1 help me please? Thanks so much!!
1. Which gas (e.g. nitrogen, oxygen, argon, krypton, xenon, helium, radon, neon, hydrogen, etc.) would you expect to be used for the following purposes?
(a) producing iron from iron ore
(b) filling potato chip bags
(c) a foam fire extinguisher
(d) filling red indicator lamps for instrument panels
2. Air is a mixture of several different gases. Identify the gas in air which:
(a) is a noble gas which is lighter than neon
(b) supports combustion
(c) condenses to form a colourless, odourless liquid at room temperature.
3. Explain why it is easy to liquefy nitrogen gas.

well here are my partial answers. Il update u soon i know the others

a.Carbon is used – because the strength of a carbon-oxygen bond is greater than that of the iron-oxygen bond at high temperatures
b.Nitrogen..
c foam and water..so maybe H2O? ..(water should be utilized)
d.neon (those are also called ‘Neon Lamps’
)
2.
a. Helium (mass of 4 compared to Neon’s which is 20.2)
b. oxygen
c. Helium (naturally occurring, inert gas that was used as a refrigerant)
