Coshh Assessment

is limonene or linalool bad for your health?

don’t tell me to look at the COSHH assessment – I ‘ve already done that

I want YOUR input!

In the proper amounts and used properly, they can be good or bad.
With Limonene, using the proper amounts can be good for the immune system, but too much (or taking it too often) can cause numerous health problems. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limonene mentions that there’s a study being done on if excessive amounts of it may be carcinogenic.

With linalool, that’s commonly used as a scent so it really depends on what you do with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linalool specifies that “inhaling linalool can reduce stress in lab rats”, but it also says “linalool is used by pest professionals as a flea and cockroach insecticide.” It’s not automatically safe or dangerous, but I wouldn’t swallow any of it as that could be very harmful (as could an allergy to it as the article also mentions). Good luck and I hope this helps!

[edit]: I actually appreciate Dave’s snide comment… I misread the question and have corrected it accordingly. Thanks!
