Fire extinguisher safe for Lithium-Ion batteries?
Just curious should it ever come up, what kind of fire-extinguisher would be safe for a computer/electronics battery (Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer)?
Would a normal ABC one be ok or would it need to be class D?
I know using the wrong type in the wrong situation can be dangerous…but that’s about it.
Use a Halon or Carbon Dioxide Type C fire extinguisher for electronics. It will smother the fire without being electrically conductive, and without the messy damage of foam and dry powders.
