How can one clean “ABC” (“Dry-Chem”) fire extinguisher powder from car trunk-liner?
I had a Small/Med size (3lb) “ABC”, “Dry-Chemical” fire extinguisher in the trunk of my 1999 Ford Crown Victoria, which chame loose from its mount, & discharged itself ALL OVER the trunk’s interior. I didn’t know of the discharge until 2-3 weeks AFTER it happened & now I’m having a great-deal of trouble getting the powder out of the trunk liner. The liner is the typical loosely-pressed fiberglass on the back &, grey synthetic “fabric”, on the front. I’ve even resorted to scrubbing w/ a coarse, horse hair brush & a ShopVac w/ a rotating bristle-brush but, I can still slap the liner w/ my hand &, powder will rise! If I were to remove the liner and rinse it w/ water… Would THAT work or, would there be some weird reaction between the dry-chem and, water?
remove liner and take to car wash and pressure wash it and then let it dry and reinstall
